Meet our Main Editors:
Violet George was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, and is a Bulgarian-American journalist, publicist, and screenwriter with extensive experience in business trends as well as in the film industry. As a screenwriter, her short film “Motives” won the Best Short Film award at the Los Angeles Film Awards in 2019. As a journalist, Violet works for the US-European publication Carbon Herald, where she has interviewed figures such as producer Leila Conners — frequent co-writer and creative partner of Leonardo DiCaprio, among others. Her native command of English allows her direct access to the most important news coming from Hollywood and the West in general, as well as providing completely natural English translations of Bulgarian articles for international readers of TalentNews.
Olia Al-Ahmed was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and is a Bulgarian journalist, translator, and PR expert of Sudanese descent. Her career began as a translator on Slavi’s Show, where she interpreted live on air for figures such as the President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev, Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov, as well as famous show business personalities like the members of the group T.A.T.U., among others. In 2001, Olia Al-Ahmed translated the Libyan Penal Code overnight from Arabic into Bulgarian, helping to save the Bulgarian nurses who were unlawfully arrested in Libya at the time, contributing to their release and return to Bulgaria.
She is the recipient of 38 awards for journalism and public writing, including Best International Journalist of 2024 from the Balkan Media Awards.
As an actress (her hobby), she has shared the screen with notable film figures, starting with the movie The Demon of the Empire (1971, directed by Vili Tsankov), where she appeared at just five years old; The Migration of the Palamud (2011), where she starred alongside Hristo Mutafchiev; and the bTV series The Family (2014), with Stefan Danailov.
